Halud gáṋdár phul kanak cáṋpár phul
Ene de ene de go Naile káṋdbo dine ráte báṋdhbo ná cúl |
Yellow marigold and gold magnolia,
Bring them, oh bring them to me; Else, hair untied, day and night I'll weep. |
Caléndula amarilla y magnolia dorada,
Tráemelas, oh tráemelas; Si no, con el pelo desatado, día y noche lloraré. |
Ámár sauṋgii sáthiirá sab geche hát́e
Tárá nácte nácte geche bát́e bát́e Ámáy jete náhi dili tui anli ná phul Ámi ákhá náhi choṋba káńe parbo ná dul |
My companions are all at the fair;
They went skipping along the way. You neither let me go nor brought me flowers– I won't touch your stove; on my ear I won't wear a ring. |
Mis compañeros están todos en la feria;
Se fueron saltando por el camino. Ni me dejaste ir ni me trajiste flores- No tocaré tu estufa; en mi oreja no llevaré anillo. |
Er vicár karbe moder devtá atul
Ámáy duhkh dili nárili ánte go phul |
For this, verdict will be rendered by our peerless God;
You gave me pain, and you did not bring a single flower. |
Por esto, el veredicto será dado por nuestro Dios sin par;
Me diste dolor, y no trajiste ni una sola flor.. |
